I know, I know. How DARE I show back up here after like half a year? (Probably more.)
I honestly don't even remember how to use this thing. Truth be told, life start life-ing, holidays started holiday-ing, my beloved MaMa (Grandma) passed away 💔, and my mental health started lacking. But we're good for now and I'll be picking back up where I left off...per my IG poll. (Y'all are the best for that by the way, thanks for hanging in there with me.)
The majority of poll respondees (?) voted for me to pick up where I left off, but honestly, it was tied for a long time, so I'll give the people who voted for me to pick up from the present a lil something here.
My baby sister just returned home after visiting for a week. It was nice to host her and she wanted to do all the Harry Potter things and hang with her nieces, so that was cool. I took a few days off while she was here, did some touristy things with her, and showed her how to get around London [Spolier Alert: it's super easy]. We've been living here for almost a year now and honestly, we haven't done nearly as much as we talked about doing. I think I've said this before, but visiting a place and setting up a new life in a new place are two TOTALLY different experiences.
School is FINALLY out, so Annecy is home with us. Despite starting the school year late (more on that in future blogs) she absolutely CRUSHED it and we could NOT be more proud of her. My anxiety-ridden self was so nervous about what her school experience would be like, but she hit the ground running. Literally. Apparently, she's a top athlete now?! Those that know her personally know why that's so surprising. LOL.

Poor Celeste has been home with me the whole time. Daycare [sorry...nursery] over here is RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE for non-citizens who are not on any sort of government scheme. It's funny because my husband and I swore that we were going to get her into nursery no matter the expense...until we saw the expense and were like Nah.
But she starts school in September and we're all VERY excited about it. She's already met her new teacher, toured the school, and the principal [sorry...headteacher] already knows her name cuz she's a "proper little chatterbox".

My husband passed his first-year review, which was very exciting. He's DEEP into his research now, so he's always reading something, discussing something, writing something, etc etc. But we're super proud of him because this PhD stuff is hard.
I've been working hard on trying to establish some sort of routine. With my work schedule it's actually kind of difficult trying to juggle mom life and work life and aspiring writer life, while also eating healthy, doing some sort of physical activity, being present, getting at least 8 hours of sleep and managing my rheumatoid arthritis (which has been WILDIN' lately by the way. But that's mostly my fault because why am I avoiding checkups? IDK).
Anywhoooooo, I'm excited to get back into it and catch you guys up! Let's go!
